Would You Keep a Tattoo from a Failed Relationship?

Remember my post on Permanent Tattoos?  Click here for a refresher.  Anyway, and this may be old news to many of you,  Eva Longoria, who has divorced her husband of three years, Tony Parker, announced via her Twitter account that she will be keeping her marriage tattoos.

Eva tweeted, “Just so everyone knows i still have all my tattoos! Nothing is being removed, although i am always up for more tattoos!”

Tattooed on her wrist are the Roman Numerals for her wedding: VII VII MMXII (07/07/2007).  She also has a ‘nine’ tattoo (for her ex-husband’s jersey number) on the nape of her neck.

My question is this: if you were in Ms. Longoria’s position, would you keep your marriage/relationship tattoos or would you laser them off?

I think keeping tattoos is okay if the relationship ended amicably (yeah, like how often does that happen?!).  If the relationship was stormy, violent, negative, then what the heck is the point, right?  It’ll only serve to remind you of a painful part in your life.
