One of the two shades I received in my very first box from Julep Maven was Taylor, a creamy periwinkle blue. I have been reading tons of great things about Julep’s formula and brush and, man, Taylor totally lives up to the rave. I don’t really wear any lighter blue polish shades just because I don’t really care for it (I’m totally partial to dark/moody blue shades).

Taylor is such an amazing blue. It’s light (i.e. perfect for spring) but it’s also got a lot of depth to it. I just love that it doesn’t look too “high school” on me. I can totally see myself wearing this over and over again this summer. It just looks SO peppy, no?! As far as formula goes, I had no problems with this polish at all. It goes on pretty opaque and I was good to go with 2 layers of polish. If you haven’t tried Julep’s Maven program yet, I highly suggest you do so, and SOON! I love that I have total control of what I get and there’s a consistency as far as quality goes. I love beauty subscriptions, but some it’s such a hit or miss.

I haven’t gotten my February box yet — I usually get it mid-month. :) I subscribed to 12 months when I first joined, but I will probably re-new it when the time comes. I’m totally addicted to it!

Oh man, I AM SO tempted to get another few months… But Pepper has driven me to near poverty :-( . I’ll just drool over your polish posts for the next month or so.

Hi Madison,

You know what, now that you’ve mentioned it, I have also been seeing a lot of bright periwinkle/sky blues and tangerine/orange everywhere. I love this shade! And try it out for yourself even if only for a month. That’s what I did. I’d subscribe to their email alerts because they do have insane promotions like this ($5 for a box or 1 cent for a box — yeah, I kid you not).

THANKsiesss

That’s a pretty blue. Dennis, that evil nail polish fairy, also had me foaming at the mouth for some Julep stuff, but I’ve decided not to subscribe. There’s a big wide world of nail polish out there to explore and I fear commitment, LOL!

LOL!! Yeah, Dennis totally is the evil nail polish fairy!

It’s so easy to get sucked into these subscription programs, but I think what sets Julep apart is that you have way more control over what you get each time… And man, I’m finding myself daydreaming about polish now. Damns yous boths to hells!!

Oh crap… this is why you drink your coffee first before going on a commenting spree, LOL!

Hell is 10,000x more flammable with all this nail polish between the THREE of us. You know you like it. ;)
