Eye Cream

Brrr it’s cold in here there must be some Clovers in the at-mos-phere. Does anyone remember that movie? Pure cinematic gold. Haha. Cheese, c’est moi. Anyway, I’m freezing as I type this as there seems to be something wrong with the heater. Oh, no!

I don’t mind cold weather, but my skin sure does. It gets itchy and dry, especially my under eyes. But having Shiseido’s Eye Moisture Recharge does help a great deal. Sure, it’s doesn’t hold a candle to my one and only true eye cream (I almost typed in Ice Cream.. whoops!) love — the Benefiance Concentrated Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream — but this is really good if you are only looking to moisturize your skin. It isn’t too heavy, which is great for the daytime, and the scent is barely noticable (not so with my true love).\

What’s in it

Formulated with Yuzu Seed Extract: Improves the production of hyaluronic acid, a natural humectant. Trehalose: Helps skin to maintain and create moisture.

Say whaa? Hyaluronic acid, said to be the fountain of youth, can be found in our dermis (underneath the epidermis) and acts like a sponge by holding water up to 1000 times its weight keeping our skin nice and plump.

Anyway, this eye cream is great, but don’t expect any fine lines to diminish or dark circles to disappear.  Its job is solely to moisturize.  As such, this product may be more suited to the needs of those under the age of 30 who are only looking to moisturize as a means of wrinkle prevention.  However, I do love that it comes in a tube which makes for an easier, nevermind more hygienic, application.

All in all this is an excellent moisturizer, but if you are looking for anti-wrinkle, try a product with retinol-a.  If your problem is with dark circles, I’ve read that kojic acid and licorice root extract are both amazing. But before you purchase anything I recommend doing a little bit of research first. Better yet, consult your dermatologist to see if what you’re thinking of buying is right for you.
