… Okay, more like cursing and muttering death threats at the umbrella I JUST bought and had already turned inside out. What the effs!? I mean, yeah, it was like $3.00, but it didn’t even last FIVE minutes with me.
It was a super windy afternoon, to say the least.

You know what did make it better? Visiting Toronto’s premier green beauty boutiqueShop Pretty. I’d been meaning to drop by for the longest time, but never really found the time to. The store, which will move to 744 Queen St. West sometime this week (it’s currently on Markham Street just a few steps south of Bloor St. West), looks like a page out of every gal’s dreams of a sunny summertime afternoon when they were little.
Lemonade pitchers, yellow gingham tablecloths, and that watermelon slices. Yeah, that’s what the store made me think about.

The store carries natural and cruelty-free brands that are very hard to find: Ilia, RMS, Tatcha, and Scotch Naturals just to name a few. Its owner, Andrea, is the nicest gal and is very passionate about the green movement in beauty.

In the end I walked out with Tatcha Aburatorigami blotting papers and a box of Heart Part (a three-in-one utensil that is 100% biodegradable). Really wish I could have stayed much longer, but I was running very late for something. And I just realized I didn’t even take a photo of Andrea (sorry!).
For those curious about the brands above or just simply want to be surrounded by very pretty things, check out the store. Seriously.

Sounds like a dangerous store to go to.
Too tempted to buy everything.
At least I know where to get Tatcha blotting sheets in Toronto now!
When we go downtown (one day), we need to stop by here and Jacob & Sebastian!
It is! I think it was sort of a blessing that I only had so much time to spend inside because lord knows those Scotch Naturals nail polishes were so adorable!! And the COLOURS! Denise, you’d die. Plus, they’re completely toxic free, so WAHOOO for that!
As far as I know Pretty is the only store that carries Tatcha blotting sheets in T.O.
And for suresies!!
Aww such a quirky shop. I love shops like these. We have one known as “Ting” here where they sell all sorts of fun stuff from keychains to organizers to organic wool washing liquid.
Hi Fieran!
I love quirky shops, too! I find that I always walk out with stuff I never intended on buying, though. lol And I think i need an organic wool washing liquid. My sweaters are always getting deformed in the wash!
Yes, the deforming is horrible. I’ve started washing all my wool sweaters by hand in the sink. I simply let them soak for 10 minutes or so in luxurious, pampering wool cleansing liquid and then rinse it out and line dry (if they’re the robust type) or flat-dry them.
