When it rains, it pours. And right now, rain is really coming down here in Toronto. So how appropriate is it that I’m feeling a little sick. I really dislike feeling sick. Sore throat, splitting head, and achy muscles — swell, just swell.
Anyway, I went downtown with my bf some time last week and went a little camera-happy. It was a very nice and sunny day so I took photos of just about anything I found even remotely interesting. Photography is not my forte in the least, but I did like the angles of one photo. Love the juxtaposition between the old and the new. Toronto mostly has modern buildings, but I really love the much older structures that are dispersed throughout it.
And, no, the original looks nothing like this. Actually, it was very dark due to the limited light available at the time I shot it. But good ‘ol GIMP came to the rescue and gave it some life.

I mostly use GIMP because I’m too broke right now for Photoshop. Would love to have it soon, though. However, I have to admit that for a freeware, GIMP is really, really good.
And also love the contrast — hoping to visit Europe soon to see more of the old, though. Concrete jungle can get very… blah sometimes. Think older structures are very awe inspiring.
