Product Review

Guys, you know what I really hate? It’s dry and tight skin. This is why I avoid over cleansing my skin and stick to soap-free cleansers — I find that my skin does NOT like soapy cleansers. It gets dry, tight (immediately after rinsing), and very dull looking which is why I tend to gravitate towards oil and milk/lotion cleansers.

When I was asked to try out Eucerin’s DermatoCLEAN line, the Mild Cleansing Lotion was the first thing I used out of the bunch. It gently cleanses the skin and does not leave it feeling very dry and tight right after rinsing it off. Another thing I really dig about this cleanser is the smell — or lack of it. I’m finding it harder and harder to deal with facial products that are heavily perfumed. It takes makeup off gently and goes GREAT with my Clarisonic Mia which, HOLY SHIT, I completely forgot to review! Anyway, LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff. Love how smooth and moisturized and CLEAN my skin feels after using it.

Eucerin’s DermatoCLEAN line is formulated with Hyaluron and Urea which, combined together, help infuse the skin with moisture while reducing the appearance of wrinkles by plumping the look of the skin. its Mild Cleansing Lotion has a rich, non-drying formula that is guaranteed to soothe and soften the skin through moisturization. It is free from fragrants and colourants. Each bottle contains 50ml of product and sells for around CAD$10.

I’m sure you all know how necessary great skin is for amazing and flawless looking makeup. You could have the best foundation, concealer, powder — or whatever! — but as long as your skin is dry and tired looking, then you might as well forget it because it will show. Well, the same truth definitely applies to your lips. Dry and flaky lips and lipstick DO NOT GO WELL TOGETHER. Period. Expand Post…

Have you ever bought a book based purely on its pretty cover? Well, I pretty much did the equivalent of that with this perfume; the painfully pretty bottle caught my eye and I just couldn’t let go of it. Yes, the scent is divine, but LOOK at that bottle! It’s just SO PRETTY. GAHHH! Chloé Eau de Parfum’s top notes include peony, lychee, and freesia; magnolia flower, lily of the valley and rose make up the midnotes; and, finally, cedarwood, honey, and amber are what comprise the base notes. This is classified as a floral fragrance but I don’t find it to be dated or cloying at all. Far from it, Chloé’s Eau de Parfum has a very young and fresh take on the otherwise very dated and uninspired floral fragrance standard. It’s soft, feminine, and classy (very classy) and also very hip and modern.

So, there you have it. Yes, I did buy this perfume based only on its appearance, but it’s the scent that will make me buy it again. And again. And. again.
