Who

Kiehl’s

What

Abyssine Cream +

Bank Breaker?

Yes. I paid $56 for a 1.69 fl. oz. Jar

The Good

  • I really loved that this came in a glass jar with an aluminum top instead of the usual plastic jar.
  • It had a pleasant smell.

The Bad

  • I have combination skin with certain areas of my face — namely the cheek area — being more prone to dryness and flaky patches and this did nothing to hydrate or keep the pesky patches at bay.
  • I did not notice any significant improvements in the fine lines around my mouth.

The Bottom Line

I really, really, really wanted for this product to work out. Have read so many glowing reviews online and in store, but, alas, ti’s not for me. Also, coming from the Ultra Facial Cream which also costs $56 for a 4.2 fl. oz. Jar, I couldn’t help but feel short changed.

Have you tried this product before? How did you like it?

It sucks to hear that this cream didn’t work out for you. :( Did you use it for at least three weeks? I find that most skincare products take that amount of time to see any difference…

Also, what’s your favourite Kiehl’s products? I wanna try something new. I’ve been interested in their Rare Earth products, but I don’t know if it’s worth paying full price for. (I’m not used to having no discount in cosmetics, lol!)

I know :( . I used it for two and it did nothing for my dry skin, so that was the deal breaker. Anyway, my favourite from Kiehl’s is the Ultimate Facial Moisturizer. I’m prone to dry patches on my cheeks and UFM was so good at moisturizing that area. I’ve also tried a sample of their Rosa Arctica and that was pretty good!

What I really like about Kiehl’s is that you can return the product if it didn’t work out for you anytime. And they’re pretty generous with their samples, too!

I feel ya on the no discount thing. I get 10% less than you do on the brands they carry at work, but the discount makes such a huge difference.
