Organic Argan Oil
Ingredients
Organic Argan Oil. Yep. That’s it.
What’s they say
Josie Maran Argan Oil is a legendary oil that’s rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, and grown organically in Morocco. Argan oil is known to have many treatment benefits, including hydrating and nourishing skin, as well as toning and firming. It’s gentle enough to use on all skin types and is believed to help with skin conditions including acne.
Bank Breaker?
Yes. It was about $50 CAD + for a 1.7 oz bottle.
The Good
For those who prefer to take a natural approach to skin care, then you’ll appreciate that this product has none of the products you don’t want
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrance
- Synthetic Dyes
- Petro-Chemicals
- Phthalates
Seriously, all this bottle has is 100% Organic Argan Oil goodness. What I like even more about this product, or Josie Maran products in general, is that it’s very environmentally friendly. The bottle is made of glass which is fully recycable and ‘was purchased from women’s cooperatives in Morocco to support their social and economic welfare.’ Also, the box that it is sold in is made of 100% post consumer fibers.
I bought this to replace the heavy night creams I’d been using during the winter time and was pleasantly surprised that it’s incredibly light weight and disappears on the skin after some time. Depending on your skin type, this may also be worn as a moisturizer during the day. It has no unpleasant smell like most products out there and since it’s in liquid form, application is super easy and a little goes a long way.
What I also love about this product is that it’s multifunctional. It can be used to condition over-processed hair, dry cuticles/hands, dry elbows/knees, or as an all-around moisturizer.
The Bad
It’s a little pricey. But the way I see, why not pay a little more for quality products from companies that fully embrace ‘green’ living.
The Bottom Line
Quality stuff. It moisturized my skin very well without clogging the pores. If you’ve got very specific needs (i.e. evening the skin tone, fine lines, etc.) then I wouldn’t recommend this product. Also I don’t think this would be a good fit for those with very oily or acne prone skin.

Ooo…. this looks intriguing. I’m def an oil girl in the winter, too. So far, I have used rose hip oil by trilogy, jojoba oil by desert essence, monoi oil by the body shop and vit E oil. Argan oil sounds wonderful… love it when oil just sinks right into the skin and doesn’t leave an overly oily sheen.
Wow, Yuming, you know your oils!
I have tried a bunch also (Olive Oil, Grapeseed, Castor Oil which was just yuck on skin, and Vitamin E) and I like this one the most.
It is seriously SO lightweight and my skin absorbed it in no time at all. Wore it out during the day underneath sunscreen once and had no problems.
How was the rose hip oil?

Hi Skoc,
Hmmm.. I haven’t bought a replacement bottle for mine in a while, so excuse my rusty memory…. I don’t remember seeing a plastic seal in the bottle. It came as is in a cardboard box.
It doesn’t have perfume in it — so don’t be dismayed if you don’t smell much. But it does have a very slight nutty scent. It should, however, not smell rancid at all! So I guess that’s a good sign?
The consistency is very nice — not too thick and your skin should absorb it right away. It’s also not too ‘oily’ and it is very pale gold. Not yellow like most cooking oil.
I know how it feels to buy stuff off ebay — just make sure you buy from an authorized dealer of any product you’re looking at. It’s just easier that way.
Hope this helps!
