Oh man, I haven’t done a blog tag in… wait, did I ever do one? Anyway, Liz tagged me for this one and the timing couldn’t be more perfect since I’ve been stuck in bed for three days now (and counting) doing nothing but drift in and out of consciousness (lol).

I met Liz through… I wanna say Twitter. Yep, I remember now. It was twitter. She sent me a lovely tweet regarding my site and the rest is, shall we say, history. She is the mastermind behind a (seriously ingenious and why hadn’t I thought of it first??!) series of blog posts dedicated to “Empties“. Apart from being a true and dedicated beauty junkie (-cum hoarder? I KID!! Hey, that’s what the Empties posts are for!), Liz is also wise beyond words. Seriously. This girl can tweet about nail polish one minute and reading James Joyce (for freaking pleasure!) the next.

So, here are 7 facts about myself:

  1. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before but, without a doubt, I’m the most clumsy person I know. Not a day goes by that I don’t hit, spill, or drop something. I swear to god.
  2. I spend an insane amount of time on the net looking for cute animal videos and articles. My favourites are the B & E (Break & Enter… Denise! I’m sure you get the meaning of that!) seal pup, the waving Kodiak Bear, Polar Bears playing with sled dogs, and TEDDY BEAR the talking porcupine who loves squash and corn and (I swear!) sounds like an Ewok.
  3. I go to the gym almost everyday. I think it borders on obsession, but my day just doesn’t feel complete until I’ve had a good sweat at the gym.
  4. I hate long nails. Blech. Achk. Yuck.
  5. The remote to my TV no longer works. As a result of this I’m pretty much tuned into the Food Network exclusively because I’m too lazy to change the channel.
  6. I love my dog and my dog loves meeeeee lol
  7. I’m actually also a mortgage broker. I kind of just fell into it because my bf is a Real Estate agent. Very random!

Thanks for the fun quiz, Liz!!

I am seriously done with this week. From cut paws (sobs!) and the subsequent doggy bandages to catching the damned flu; can’t really say that this week has been great.

Am not even sure where he cut his paw. He was walking and even wanted to run a bit, then he just stopped and held his left front paw. I just assumed that there was some snow that had packed in between his pads — something that does happen quite often — so I cleared it with my gloves. He moved barely an inch when he stopped a second time and held his paw out again. I looked underneath at his pads and that’s when I saw all the blood. A portion of his pad had been sliced off! **BREAKDOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET**
We had to get picked up and dropped off at the vet’s because he seriously couldn’t move. Poor guy. An hour and a bucket of tears later, he came out with his bandages. My heart broke :( He’s currently at my bf’s right now (he has him until Thursday) and I’m positive he’s getting spoiled rotten.
Oh, yeah. I finally got around to hanging up my new mirror-paneled-mirror the night before I got sick. I kind of pride myself in being quite the amateur handyman. I installed my walk-in-closet on my own. Sure, there are a few gaps in the floor molding, a couple of holes in the wall, and an uneven shelf. But, hey, I did it on my own :-P . And, yes, that’s a water boiler in my room. I’ve been drinking tea by the gallon.

I got finally got my EF 50mm f 1.8 ii in the mail today. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the lens that came with the kit: EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS. It does what I need it to, but it doesn’t perform as well in low light conditions. The 50mm f 1.8, however, is a clear winner in that department. Yes, it’s so weird for me not to be able to zoom, but it takes such SHARP and CLEAR photos with whatever light is available and creates that coveted background blur, making the subject “pop”. Am SUPER excited to play around with my new toy.
