Hi! I’m still alive! I hate that I’ve been neglecting this space, but I’m just so busy these days that I haven’t had time to write full posts. Oh. Well.
Anyway, let’s get on to the main topic, shall we? I bought Amore Pacific’s Moisture Bound Lip Treatment on pure impulse. I was in Vegas, had some time to kill, some money in a gift card given to me and kind of “fell prey” to the sales associates bigging up this product at the Sephora store beside the Venetian hotel (lovely place!).
My lips are in a perpetual state that falls somewhere between chappy-ish and damn dry, so when the sales associate mentioned that AmorePacific keeps her lips hydrated for an entire 8-hour shift I knew I couldn’t walk away without getting one.
AmorePacific’s Moisture Bound Lip Treatment contains: stabilized Bamboo SAP (hydrating and anti-aging), Aqua Sponge Complex (W.T.H?), Mineral and Amino Acid blend, and Mandarin extract (to promote circulation). It formulated using an eight-hour time release delivery model to ensure that your lips stay hydrated throughout the day. The consistency of the treatment is pretty thick, but applies pretty thin (not that you need so much product, anyway). It leaves a slight sheen on the lips and has no scent.
So, what do I really think of the product? In a word: AMAZING. It’s quickly become my favourite lip moisturizer. My lips stayed hydrated for a very long and I don’t have to worry about chapped lips when I’m using this product. I have tried many other balms in the past, but nothing has worked nearly as well as AmorePacific’s Moisture Bound Lip Treatment. However, and this is quite a huge HOWEVER, at $35USD per tube (each contain .34 oz of product), this is a little too expensive. Perhaps I’d repurchase if I don’t find anything similar.
I picked up a pack of Tatch Aburatorigami blotting sheets from Shop Pretty when I went there a few weekends ago. Tatcha’s one of those brands that has been on my radar for so long, but it’s only available at Shop Pretty in Toronto and, for whatever reason, going downtown is SUPER hard for me despite living only 15 minutes north of it.
Tatcha Aburatorigami blotting sheets are made from leaves of the Abaca tree and are gold-flecked. They are fragrance and powder free which means that you won’t get that caked on look which is just… Ughh blechhhh ughhh… I can’t even type sensical words at the thought of caked on powder. Nothing can make you look older than dull, powdered skin.
The verdict? Absolutely amazing. Tatcha blotting sheets absorbed excess oil from my skin without budging my makeup. Yes, you read right: it didn’t budge my makeup.
Would I buy again? Hells, yes! Tatcha Aburatorigami blotting sheets are a little costly at $12.50 CAD per pack (the original pack contains 30), but the quality of each HANDMADE(!) sheets is amazing so you definitely get what you pay for. Also, I love that the sheets are biodegradable and completely cruelty-free. Ladies, I’ve found my summer bff!!
If you live in Toronto, you can try it at Shop Pretty. Wanna get up close and personal with the lady behind the brand? Hit up Vicky’s twitter account. She’s SUPER nice!
