Confession: I’m always at the gym. Like, I’m not even kidding you — almost everyday. It’s not like I enjoy working out or anything like that. In fact, I usually dread working out, especially weight training. I’m clumsy, uncoordinated, and usually a hot mess (yes, I was that girl walking with a dried piece of napkin stuck on her cheek last week), but it’s just such a part of my daily routine that I feel really odd and uneasy if I miss more than a day or two at a time. Yeah, I think I have a bit of a problem.

Anyway, I just bought this lovely bag recently. I was getting sick and tired of lugging my dirty and old and ratty Le Pliage which has just ONE pocket which, I’m sure many of you ladies can agree with, is just INSANE. Where do I put my keys? Or my coin purse? Makeup case? Makeup BRUSH case? Toiletries bag? Where?! I searched and searched and searched for months and could find nothing. I’d actually given up but walked by this store called Lole and saw this bag hanging on the wall. Listen to this, it’s a tote AND a backpack all in one cute bag. Guys, it’s a total game changer! Will review soon. And by soon I really mean sometime this year at the rate I’m posting entries.

In my Gym Bag

  • Boar Bristle hair brush (Sonia Kashuk, I think?)
  • Nike Free Run 2.0 (which has been discontinued.. BOOOOOO!) on top of a drawstring bag that came with the bag
  • Progryp (Sponge grips for lifting weights. Much more comfortable than gloves!)
  • Workout book which contains my workout routines
  • Iphone 5 with Bose earphones attached
  • Desserts gum in orange popsicle or something. You know, for days when you’re falling asleep while working out
  • Wallet
  • Combination lock
  • MAC Mineralized Face and Body lotion. (So. Good!)
  • Jurlique Lavender Body Wash
  • 365 Unscented Body Lotion
  • Lush I love Juicy clarifying shampoo
  • Nivea deodorant
  • Some shaker for my protein shakes

What’s in yours?!

A few weeks ago (yeah, that’s how much I have been slacking on updating my blog), I met up with V for some grub at Wow! Sushi. It was my second time there and it was every bit as good as the first. I don’t remember exactly what V ordered, but we got something like 40 pieces of sushi/maki in total.

What I love about Wow! Sushi is that their dishes taste every bit as good as they look. The fish is very fresh, rice is warm, and the rice to fish ratio is very good. Don’t you just hate sushi restaurants where you are served, like, a sliver of fish on top of half a cup of rice? Their service is also phenomenal, if you were wondering.

We headed over to Crema Coffee Co. after dinner for some coffee (for me) and latte (V). I guess their coffee was as good as plain coffee can taste (i.e. like cardboard).

It was a good day.

Guys, meet the Heart Part. Can you believe this is a freakin’ utensil?!?! Yeah! It’s actually a scoop, knife, and fork all in one! When Andrea from Shop Pretty showed it to me, I had my doubts. It honestly looked to me more like a hair accessory than something you eat with.

Know what else rocks about the Heart Part? It’s 100% Biodegrable. Yes, it is just about the sassiest looking utensil, ever, but this is my favourite feature. I often get takeout at work since I can’t cook if my life depended on it, and the trash really does accumulate. So, in an effort to curb my waste I have this takeaway container that I often reuse for takeout and, of course, the Heart Part.

The Heart Part is deceivingly efficient. I honestly didn’t think it would cut as well as it does. I managed to cut a crispy apple and cooked chicken and beef with it just fine. The tines of the fork are also quite sharp.
Each box sells for $9.95 CAD and contains 10 Heart Parts which can be split into half. Another plus is that they are completely dishwasher safe. You can find it at Shop Pretty in Toronto.
