For the dog days of summer, I like to switch my moisturizer to one that is much more lightweight. Although my skin is combination, it does tend to get quite oily and using heavy moisturizer really won’t help! Usually, I turn to Clinique’s Dramatically Different Lotion, but thought why not spice things up with Kose’s Junkisui Moisturizer.

Bath and Body Works was phasing out other brands it used to carry to focus more on its own products and Kose, sadly, one of the many brands those brands so it was on sale for half off the retail price. You know me and sales! I love to use a good sale as an excuse to try out new things. But I knew I would like the Junkisui moisturizer; I did fall in love with Kose Mask White, after all. By the way, don’t let the name of the mask fool you. It is SO not white. It’s actually thick, black goop and try to schedule your usage to when you’re alone at home — you wouldn’t want to scare the bejesus out of your fam. I guess you could consider this a facial mask and a halloween mask all in one! *Guffaws*

Please excuse my weird humour.

MOVING ON

What they say:

A lightweight moisturizer that feels fresh to the touch and provides optimal levels of hydration. It enhances skin’s barrier function by providing detoxifying benefits, while giving skin a radiant, clear complexion.
Herbal Extracts: Chinese Lovage Water, Moutan Bark Extract, Peony Root Extract, Fennel Extract

This moisturizer has got the consistency of an emulsion and is thus SUPER easy to spread on skin. A little goes a long way!

Once dried up, it creates very little shine!

So…what so what so what’s the scenario?!(Here we go yo, here we go yo!) haha.

All things considered, I thoroughly liked this product. It has delivered, though we haven’t really been having much of a summer here in Toronto. I would recommend this for those with oily skin as it contains very little mineral oil.
To make this even more refreshing, why not pop this in the fridge before application?

Has anyone else tried this product? Don’t you just wish it came with a built-in pump?
