I seriously cannot live without bobby pins. My refusal to get a haircut combined with my hair’s predisposition to frizz in the summer and static in the winter all make it a necessary item to have in my purse at all times.

The dollar store is where I buy all my bobby pins because, really, what’s the diff? The good thing is that it’s usually only $1.25 for a pack of approx. 60 pins (as opposed to $2-4 at the drugstore). The bad thing is that they come in two very boring finishes: silver and copper. So, in an effort to prettify said pins, I decided to paint them using nail polish.

Hottie Kim Kardashian was recently spotted heading to the gym with her hair in plaited cornrows à la Bo Derek in the movie 10. Everyone seems to be shocked at Kim’s new ‘do, but, really, what’s shocking to me is that she uses her Hermès Birkin as a gym bag. Who. Does. That?!
Oh, wait. Kim Kardashian does.

I love winter. There, I said it. A lot of you may totally disagree (especially those who go through winter year after year) and some may even go as far as to think that I’m just bonkers. After all what is so great about slipping on black ice, having your nostrils freeze up on you as you breathe, losing feeling to your toes and fingers, and, in general, just plain ol’ cold weather.
Yes, I don’t disagree that the aforementioned complaints suck, but I have come to accept them over the years. But there is one thing I really, really, absolutely cannot stand about winter and it is static hair. Static hair (as well as dry skin) is my best enemy during this time of the year. The air is super dry, amazingly enough what with all the snow; combine that with equally dry office rooms (thanks to heaters) and the use of products that strip away much needed moisture from our locks and you’ve got a recipe for static hair hell.
If you suffer from annoying, uncomfortable, and, often times, embarrassing static hair then make sure to always keep one or two unused dryer sheets in your pocket or bag. Just rub it on your hair to tame those strands — yeah, they’ll know just who’s boss. An added bonus is that it’ll keep your bag or coat smelling fresh at all times!
Don’t want to smell like Alpine Fresh? Ensure that you buy fragrance-free dryer sheets to avoid over-piling the scent.
