I’m sure many of you have read or heard or seen news reports regarding the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti nearly two weeks prior. It’s almost impossible to tune in to any news channel without getting bits of update regarding the country. I just feel so badly for everyone affected by the earthquake, especially the kids, many of whom now face an uncertain future without their parents.
Some say that it will take years and years to get Port-au-Prince back to where it was before the earthquake, which was quite dismal at best, and it’s hard not to come to the same conclusion: the city and some of its surrounding areas are simply leveled. Amidst the despair and sadness, it is such a joy to see the image below of a young boy being reunited with his mother — all the love and relief in his eyes as he reaches for her.

There is a lot being done for Haiti, but if you would like to donate yourself, you can visit sites like www.unicef.com, www.oxfam.ca, www.redcross.ca, etc. Just make sure that it is a legitimate charity so that your money does not fall into the wrong hands.
