School is almost here (*sobs*) which means I will often be pulling unwanted late/all nighters again. Who am I kidding? I do it to myself what with me being quite possibly the laziest student ever. I love to put important stuff at the very last minute, fooling myself into believing that I work better under pressure.
So. Not. True. Me under pressure = elevated heart rate, profuse sweating, fidgeting, and sometimes even tears of frustrations. Not a pretty sight!
Naturally, waking up late and not having enough time to get ready properly are often the byproducts of my bad habit. This, ladies, is where Dry Shampoo comes to the rescue. You get cleaner hair without water.
Dry shampoo is a breeze to use: just spray at least 2 inches away from hair, concentrating on your roots, then brush off using a paddle brush. What are you left with? Well, clean (smelling) hair with more body!!
And what I really like about Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Dry Shampoo is its clean and simple lemon scent as I can’t stand heavily scented hair products products.
What they say:
Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo is the ultimate time saver—in a spray version. It refreshes, revives, and rejuvenates the hair in a matter of minutes—no water or blow-dryer required. It thoroughly and effectively soaks up oil, removes product buildup, and boosts volume. Hair looks, feels, and smells freshly shampooed with a clean, lemon verbena scent. Go ahead, hit snooze!
Overall? Yeah, Pronto delivers: it made my hair a little more voluminous (relative to leaving unwashed hair), took away that funky Hey-Lovah-Wanna-Smell-My-Unwashed-Hair smell as well as oil buildup. BUT! At the price of nearly $25 per 3.2 oz can, it is almost ridiculously unreasonable. I went through the entire can in about, hmmm, 2-3 weeks. And I didn’t use it everyday.
A great alternative is Pssst Dry Shampoo at less than $10 per can which is, sadly, only available in the US.
Can anyone suggest a cheapy dry shampoo suggestions? Please let me know

Batiste is the best! It’s a few dollars and one of the “classics”. My goodness I love dry shampoo, I can’t believe what I did before it!
Hey Renee,
I’ve never heard of Batiste. Is that sold in Asia only?? Would love to try that one out.
And you’re so right — dry shampoo is a saviour! It shaves off at least 30 minutes from my morning routing; yea, my hair takes 30 minutes to blow dry
.
Baking Powder: Sprinkle somein your hair, massage your scalp for a few seconds, and your done. Neutralises oudors, absorbs oil, hair feels cleaner, if you want added scent, add a few drops essential oil to the powder, store it in a jar. Dont know how itwill work for excessively greasy hair, I think washing your hair would be a must in that case.
WOW, I knew about the baking powder trick, but I never thought to add some essential oil to the powder itself. GENIUS!
Thanks, Anon!! I’ll have to try this out when I run out of my current dry shampoo.
