Truth be told, my vacation was packed with so many activities that I rarely got a chance to hit up the mall although my aunt’s place (where I stayed) was just a few minutes from a couple of the nicest malls Manila has to offer, Greenbelt and Rustan’s.
I stopped by at Topshop and bought a few things on my first trip (they’re all in the wash :S) and Adora on another to ‘look’ at the Missoni loves Havaianas flip flops. Had no intention of buying them whatsoever, but of course, impulse always wins, so I walked out with a $74CAD pair of flip flops. Maddening.
Anyway, my ‘birfday’ is right around the corner and I have been dropping hints to the BF that in no way will I find gifts bought from Shoppers Drugmart, WalMart, or even the gas station funny anymore. Ha!
I got a “loot bag” that contained a mish mash of things including a travel size Tylenol for Christmas and a jar of Life Brand (not even Tostitos!!) for our eighth year anniversary. So, for my 26th birthday, I pulled out all the stops in making my wish list.
Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium Satchel: I love bags with long handles because they are SO much easier to carry around. The PS1 is can be worn as a shoulder bag, messenger bag, or even held in the crook of the arms. Besides, nothing would be nicer than to celebrate spring with this in bright coral.
Michael Kors Rubber Watch: Rubber watches seem to be all the rage right now. I’m always wearing clothes in some shade of grey or black, so this watch would definitely add that ‘pop’ to my outfits.
Chanel Le Vernis in Mimosa: I used to be all about muted colours on my fingernails, but, man, bright and happy colours are really growing on me! Chanel’s mimosa is a lovely yellow!
Ray Ban Cats 1000: I’m completely devoted to Ray Bans. They’re relatively cheap, but are super great and don’t strain my eyes. Find it so annoying when I get headaches from wearing sunglasses — has anyone else experienced this?
Tocca Cleopatra Eau de Parfum Spray: This has been on my lust list for a long time now. I love that it’s feminine without being overly so. Also dig the look of the bottle — it just screams old world chic!
Sass and Bide shorts: I can’t decide what I love more, the colour or that super cute bow!!
Tory Burch Contrast Elastic Wedge Espadrilles: Love the contrast between the moss green and bright neon yellow. And it’s not too fussy or girly.
Fans got a huge eye treat in London when Ralph Lauren dazzled them with the first ever 4-D light show to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the American fashion house’s website, Polo.com in November.
Am rendered speechless by how beautiful and spectacular that light show was. And some parts even reminded me of the movie Inception, somehow.
This was a Polo-meets-Pixar-level event: 150 people worked on the project, spending months architecturally mapping every crevice of the buildings’ exteriors. The special effects, which were projected in higher resolution than IMAX, were created by 100 of the men and women who worked on the Harry Potter films. (They must have enjoyed working on the scene in which Prince Charles’s polo team played a game.)
