British fashion house, Burberry, is set to launch their Burberry Beauty cosmetics line in July of this year putting them in the list of fashion houses, along with Dolce and Gabbana, Calvin Klein, and Top Shop, that currently have a cosmetics line in the beauty market. Burberry Beauty will have 96 items that includes such staples as powders, bronzers, lipsticks, as well as eyeshadow — all inspired by the classic trench for which the fashion house is famous the world over.
So, what type of gal would wear Burberry Beauty? According to Christopher Bailey (the man behind the line) Burberry Beauty is for someone who “wears just a trace of makeup — no crazy yes or crazy lips… Makeup should enhance women, not just cover up what they perceive as flaws.” AMEN to that!!
Am so loving the sleek and clean lines of the packaging — so chic! Cannot wait to try this, but BOO HOO because I don’t think this is available in Canada yet?? The line has been launched exclusively at Harrods in the UK and will eventually launch at 26 other outlets worldwide. In the US, I believe nordstrom.com will carry it as will burberry.com
The faces of Burberry Beauty are Lily Donaldson (love her bone structure and chin! Wait, does that make me weird?), Nina Porter, and Rosie Huntington-Whitely who will star in the third installment of Transfomers. Fan-girl moment and gushing aside, why do they not have any woman of colour? Would love to see them be more inclusive in their Burberry Beauty campaign ads and feature models of other colours. Hello, Liya Kebede? Chanel Iman? Du freaking Juan??
Still, you bet I’ll be checking this out the second it comes out here in Toronto.
